Youspeak Radio
intergenerational audio stories
led by LGBTQ+ youth
Listen to their stories. Learn from their wisdom. Launch into our future.
Our third and final season of Youspeak Radio is out now!
Youspeak Radio is an audio project in partnership with The Outwords Archive (OUTWORDS) that showcases intergenerational conversations with community trailblazers, led by LGBTQ+ youth.
For three seasons, youth participants acquired knowledge in storytelling, audio documentary, and oral history, in addition to learning about LGBTQ+ history and collections from ONE Archives at the USC Libraries. Each student applied their passion and expertise by crafting and conducting conversational interviews with trailblazing LGBTQ+ activists, scholars, artists, writers, and elected officials from across California.
Check out our eighteen audio episodes below. We encourage educators to integrate these audio stories in curriculum in alignment with California’s FAIR Education Act and History-Social Science Framework.
