Katherine “Kat” Gaylord (she/her) is the Education Media Intern at One Institute through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture’s Arts Internship Program.

Kat is a rising junior at Loyola Marymount University, studying Film and Television Production with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies through the University Honors Program. She is an active member of the Delta Gamma and the current Recruitment Chair for the Theta chapter of Delta Kappa Alpha.

Beyond her work at One Institute, Kat is a Student Programming Assistant for LMU’s Office of LGBT Student Services, where she works to engage, educate, and support LMU’s queer community under the direction of Stuart Moskovitz and Henry Ward. She also serves as the Honors Advisory Council Secretary and Intercultural Facilitator to mentor and support her peers during the academic school year. Prior to joining One Institute, Kat developed her passion for community engagement and education as a LMU Honors Teaching Assistant and LMU Summer Programs Residential Advisor.

Kat was adopted from China and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She is fiercely proud of her identity as a Queer, Asian-American woman, and she strives to represent underrepresented voices through all her work. In her free time, Kat loves to cook and bake, make music and art, and spend time with family, friends, and animals.
