Jeremy Ancalade has spent the last decade serving communities in Southern California and nationally. From mental health LGBTQ work at The Trevor Project, feeding individuals living with HIV and critical illness with Project Angel Food, arts-based youth empowerment efforts at The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles and Laguna Playhouse, and his current work leading economic recovery efforts with the Downtown Long Beach Alliance, Jeremy has dedicated his career to the nonprofit sector strengthening organizations dedicated to service and community building.

Jeremy brings to One Institute expertise in nonprofit finance and business administration. Jeremy is currently the Chief Financial Officer for the Downtown Long Beach Alliance, leading the agency’s financial strategy, analysis, reporting and compliance, while also overseeing human resources functions. Ancalade has previously served as CFO of Laguna Playhouse, Project Angel Food’s Finance Director, and General Manager of the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles. As Vice President of Operations for The Trevor Project, Jeremy provided strategy to ensure compliant and efficient business practices, directly leading finance, human resources, volunteer engagement, IT, and operations for the national LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention nonprofit. Jeremy is especially proud to have advocated for change during one of the most dynamic times for LGBTQ people in American history and for being there for LGBTQ young people in their greatest hour of need.

Jeremy is an active volunteer with the American Legion’s California Boys State program,  offering a hands-on, realistic experience in civic responsibility to young people instilling in them the privileges and duties of American citizenship, and serves on the board of Shanti Orange County, strengthening the health and wellbeing of our community through safe and affirming mental health care, wellness, and social services. Jeremy holds MBA and MFA degrees from California State University, Long Beach, and a BA from Loyola University New Orleans.

Born and raised in Louisiana, Jeremy is a southern boy at heart. He now lives in Southern California with his husband Ron and rescue dog Igi!
