Jacky Guerrero (she/they)Board Member

    Jacky Guerrero serves as a Budget Analyst for Advancement Project where she works in partnership with community-based organizations to build power and support advocacy campaigns by monitoring school district, city and county budgets with a particular focus in the Central Valley.

    As a former Bohnett Fellow working in the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office, she was part of the launch team in the Office of Economic Development to establish President Obama’s Promise Zone efforts in Los Angeles where she worked to establish a makerspace at the Pio Pico-Koreatown Library. She also published an extensive report examining the effectiveness of the turf removal rebate policy in Los Angeles City Council District 3 for the Office of Councilmember Bob Blumenfield in response to water conservation efforts during the height of the state drought. In addition, as Program Associate with the Liberty Hill Foundation, she managed the Foundation’s LGBTQ portfolio that directed more funds to organizations using intersectional frameworks, and strategized ways to strengthen the foundation’s signature capacity building program.

    Jacky graduated with a Masters in Public Policy from the Luskin School of Public Affairs at the University of California Los Angeles and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the California State University Northridge. Jacky is an avid fan of women’s soccer, public radio and science fiction. Jacky resides in the greater Los Angeles area with her wife, Amber Carter and their dog Maximus.
