Join the One Institute and the UCLA History-Geography Project for a free one-day workshop on the integration of LGBTQ history within 11th grade U.S. History curricula, featuring an LGBTQ cultural competency training. In this workshop, you will:
- Be familiarized with 20th century LGBTQ history, with a focus on LGBTQ content within the new California History-Social Science Framework
- Participate in a model lesson exploring an 11th grade LGBTQ history topic
- Be provided an LGBTQ cultural competency training including best practices for creating safe and inclusive classrooms for LGBTQ students
- Participate in a planning session for next steps
This workshop is primarily for 11th grade U.S. History and Ethnic Studies teachers.
